Mortice locks may have two or five levers. For more secure, five levers are recommended. This type of door lock is used for external doors by insurance companies. This lock is hard to pick as it is designed to be robust. It is also difficult to force open.
Front and Rear UPVC and Composite doors
Both front and rear UPVC doors are generally installed with cylinder locks. This lock can work together with some multi-point locking mechanisms. Most used locks for UPVC door are Euro Cylinders. This type of lock can be in single cylinder or double cylinder. Single cylinder provides only one side access to open by a key and double cylinder provides two side accesses nu a by or by thumb-turn from inside.
Exterior Sliding Doors
Besides wooden and UPVC doors, sliding doors that are commonly installed in patio must have the right door lock since burglars target this sliding patio door as this door is easy to lift or force open. The good news is there are many patio doors have been designed together with integral multi-point locks and also anti lift mechanisms.
